Beginning our May the Moore way

Not sure if y'all know or not but one of my favorite months is May! It starts getting warm and we get to play outside more. I used to love May because it meant time for summer! Also I started dating my hubbeebbs in May. And even though we married in September, we still tell each other happy anniversary on May 24th since we became inseperable since the beginning :)

Enough of the mush....

We have started our May off pretty interesting. Starting with my work week being insane and the doc I work for being a complete douchelord! I wanted to slap him so bad...I know it's bad but I cannot stand how freaking rude he is and his stupid God complex ugh!
On Tuesday we go to my husbands basketball game and they were winning but started to get a bit aggressive and boom! My hub gets headbutted in the eye and poor thing needed to go to the hospital. I get so sad when he gets hurt. I know he's a big boy but I swear it hurts me more, and he just laughs at me because he can tell I'm nervous. Ugh. This is the second hospital needed injury in a year!
If only he played nice..........
.As soon as we got to the hospital they pulled him straight back and even being just injured frm ball that's all he wanted was to turn on the TV and watch the game..... Luckily he only needed a little dermabond rather than stitches.
Well I have a three day weekend and ended my work week with a performance from my son and his pre k class for the cinco de mayo program his school put on. I took an iPhone video and it gets crazy when I try to move a bit closer, but Eli is in the front row making his debut :)

Hope everyone has a great weekend and a cinco de mayo full of alcohol,Mexican food, and mustaches :)

& now back to our regularly scheduled programming...

Has it really been since November that I last blogged? It doesn't feel that long at all! Being a stay at home mom started getting surprisingly busy and I got completely off track. Now that I am back working its time to get back in. SO much has happened since November!
In December Elijah and I turned a year older! 5 & 24. Where did the time go? I have a 5 year old? I thought he was just born yesterday... Time flies and I am starting to get major baby fever...
January I  took a job offer that was totally unexpected. A friend from high school told me that her job was looking for a Medical Assistant to work in fertility practice. Going back to work after so long good hours were way too good to pass up. Since then I have come to discover that the doc I work for is (to say the least) a condescending ass with a "GOD" complex. I guess we'll see how this goes huh? I'm guessing this will make for good blogging stories. For now ill blow him off and vent to y'all :)

Other than that we have pretty much been the same around here. Falling more and more in love with our city and have become much more "outdoorsy".

We also added another fur baby to our family. Chanel is a XL blue Pitbull and she is adorable. She is still a puppy, but at 80 pounds her crazy ass just jumps on your lap and thinks she weighs 5. She LOVES being outdoors and is a great running partner. My prayers have been answered! No more running with a dog who either thinks he is too good to run or lays down and won't move after 1/2 a
block.
Life has been good to us here and I have really missed keeping everyone updated and promise I won't  neglect ya'll anymore :)

Halloween Moore style!

Happy Halloween!(...or sorta...a day late)
I hope you all enjoyed your Halloween and have a belly full of candy.
We had a great time this year!
Elijah said "Trickourtreat" all by himself this year, Daddy dressed up with us, and we went to the annual Halloween party our family throws every year.
We are still very tired today and we will probably head to bed pretty early tonight.

(Torin & his cousin Marketh dressed as their grandmas! This was a huge hit at the party. lol!)

Carrot Cake

On Saturday night we went over to my dads house for my brothers birthday dinner. My step mom is an awesome cook and always treats us with whatever kind of cake we want for our birthdays. If it is something she has never done before, this woman is not scared of a little challenge. Elijah loves cooking with Lauren and the two of them are adorable chefs. Johnathan wanted a carrot cake from scratch and Lauren (and Elijah) nailed it!

Ingredients

*4 eggs
*1 1/4 vegetable oil
*3 cups of grated fresh carrots
*1 cup chopped pecans
*2 cups white sugar
*1/2 cup of softened butter
*2 cups flour
*2 tsp. baking soda
*2 tsp. baking powder
*1/2 tsp. of salt
*Cream cheese icing :)
*2 tsp. ground cinnamon

Directions

*Preheat oven to 350
*Grease and flour pan
*Grab a large bowl and beat eggs, white sugar, oil, two teaspoons vanilla extract, mix in flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon, stir in carrots and pecans.
*Bake for 40 to 50 minutes.

and voila! Amazingness! I am not a carrot cake fan, but this one was to die for!

Love-a-bull

As  you all may already know, we are pit bull obsessed in our home. And yes that includes the singer too. We recently found an organization called Love-A-Bull here in Austin that rescues pit bulls and also has great meetups/events for all Pit bull lovers/owners. Sunday morning we set out to check out their annual pit festival downtown and had a great time. We will definitely be much more involved in the pit bull community here in Austin and I would love to do some volunteer work with them. These dogs are so misunderstood, it's so sad. Our pits are so lovable and have no bad bone in their bodies. I think this organization is amazing and a great start to improving the pit bull image and their lives. Click here to check out their website.

We got to meet Tia Torres from the show Pit bulls & Parolee. Torin and I love the show and everything that Tia stands for so we were so excited to meet her. You can check out her website here. King loved Tia and got lots of lovin' from her :)
In our love-a-bull T-shirts. I am in love with my "Hello Pittie" shirt!
Later on Sunday night we went out to dinner for my brothers 21st birthday. I can't believe how big you are Jojo. Seems like just yesterday I was pushing you in a laundry basket through the house.
Elijah is "Johnny" obsessed. He loves his uncle very much.

We had a great weekend, full with family, pitties, & too much Italian food to handle. I hope everyone had an amazing weekend too!

Happy Monday :)

Gotta get down on Friday!

I completely neglected my little blog this week. Regardless of a busy week we did manage to squeeze in some fun/new little things. So here is my little update, and I think ya'll will like this much more than Friday letters. :)

We finally bought a waffle maker! Torin and my son are HUUUGE waffle fans and we really should have purchased one a long time ago. Chicken and waffles anyone?

Wednesday's are my favorite day of the week now that I am a "stay at home mom/wife". Hubby has Wednesdays off which is great for alone time while baby is at school. This Wednesday we took the dogs to a fancy little dog park in Cedar Park, TX.  Nala was the happiest little thing ever. They really enjoyed it.

My favorite purchase this week...this super comfy dog bed. We have wanted to get one but Petco/Petsmart has them for $60-$100, which is pretty ridiculous. I found this bed at Tj Maxx for a steal at $35.00!!!YAY for bargain shopping. And my $35.00 have made these two so happy/comfy. Now I need to find a seperate one for Nala so they can stop fighting over who gets to take up the most space in it. OHEMGEE, I swear I feel like I have 3 kids sometimes.

Yesterday we helped my mom make gift baskets for her booth at the bridal expo this weekend. Elijah had a really good time "helping" his granny out.

And to end this post. The most tragic thing is happening! Elijah has slept with us on and off for almost 5 years now. We are suckers for this little man. I can't even say how many times we have moved his bed in and out of our room. I lost count. Well at school yesterday the kids were talking about how they were soo "grown up" and sleep in their own rooms and no longer sleep with mommy and daddy. So when Elijah came home from school he asked me to move his bed to his room and to get everything ready so he could sleep in there by himself. I found this little man knocked out in his own little bed, in his own little room. Sad day. He is growing up way too fast. I guess it's beginning to be cool to be a big boy. wah.

Happy Friday :)

Friday Letters!

Dear Elijah, Please stop growing up so fast! It makes me sad to see you as a big boy now. Where did the time go baby?
Dear Husband, thank you for all the laughs we shared this week. I couldn't ask God for a better man in my life. I vote we horseback ride this weekend and then lounge and watch Animal Planet all weekend for some "LIVE ACTION"! :)
Dear Texas weather, make up your damn mind! Either it's gonna be hot or freezing!
Dear Mom & Dad, thank you for all your support and love. and thank you for playing with Elijah and teaching him how to draw animals.
Dear King, I appreciate you hanging around me 24/7 and keeping me company, but when I am sorting laundry you are not helping me by destroying boxers, under wears, and socks.
Dear Mens midnight basketball league, thank you for cancelling tonight so I can cuddle with hubbs at Paranormal activity 4 later.
Dear Mother in law, thank you for giving me pointers on how to make homework for Elijah much more fun and exciting!
Dear last bitchy employers, take that! I won the case and you lose! Learn how to treat your employees better and then you wouldn't be in this mess in the first place. Now I can stay home for a while and spend more time with my son, dogs, and be a housewife! booyahhhhhh

(Everyday after school we have so much fun! Can't you tell from pic #1 that he loves homework.)

(baking a cake..Chef Boyardee Jr!)

(Mr.Sock and under wear destroyer himself!)

Have a great weekend ya'll <3
